How to Categorise Credit Card repayments

Edited

It's best to categorise credit card repayments as transfers. This ensures they are excluded from your income and expense calculations, helping to keep your budget clear and accurate. This way, your credit card payments won’t affect your budget totals but will still be tracked for record-keeping purposes.

The actual expenses incurred on your credit card are already recorded under the specific Expense category for each credit card transaction, so categorizing the repayment from your bank account to your credit card as an Expense would be duplication.

Interest Charges

The interest charges on your credit card should be recorded as an Expense. This is because they are an additional expense on top of the credit card repayment you are making.
