What Are Tags and How Do They Work?
What are Tags?
Tags let you group your transactions around a specific theme, event, or purpose so you can clearly see how much you’ve spent in that area.
For example:
If you go on a Dubai holiday, you can tag all related expenses with “Dubai”. At the end, you’ll see exactly how much the entire trip cost.
If you’re celebrating your Uni Graduation, you can create a tag like “Graduation” and track all the spending tied to that event.
You can create as many tags as you like, and they can be as broad or specific as you need.
Tags vs Budgets
Budgets show you how much you’ve spent within a planned category, such as Travel or Groceries.
Tags add another layer of detail. For example, within your Travel budget, you could tag transactions as “Dubai”, “Japan Trip”, or “Weekend Getaway”. This way, you can see both:
How much you’ve spent overall on Travel (your budget).
How much you specifically spent on Dubai (your tag).
In short: Categories/Budgets are about the “type” of spending, while Tags let you zoom in on the “why” or “what for.”
