Account Balances & Financial Position

Edited

Billroo synchronizes your total account balances, and gives a summary of Total Cash, Total Debt, and also Goals set by yourself.

Click on Overview then Balances to see your current balances.

Total Cash is the sum of your bank accounts. Debt is the sum of your mortgage and credit cards. You will see the included accounts listed below each section.

At this stage we don’t track the value of your assets, such as your house or car, or any finances outside of your linked bank accounts e.g. non-bank financial institutions. We do help you categorize and organize your income and expenses, and have a clear overview of your budget and expenditure so you can plan for the future.

Categories for Savings and Debt

To assist you in managing your finances, we have established specific categories for savings and debt. These categories are designed to represent money flowing out of your main accounts—either into savings or towards paying off debt. When you record these transactions, it’s crucial to enter the amounts as negative values. This way, the app will reflect them as positive progress in your savings overview or the amount paid towards debts.

How Do I Track My Debt Balance?

Managing debt can be a daunting task, but setting a personal timeline for paying it off can be incredibly helpful. Based on your desired timeline, set a monthly debt repayment budget in Billroo that will ensure you meet that target. By sticking to (or even exceeding!) your budget each month, you can feel confident that you’re on track to pay off your debt within your desired timeframe—or even faster!
